Introduction

Bioenergetics is a Body-based Therapy and Step-Up Tool that removes emotional holding patterns from your muscle system.

In the West, Bioenergetics was developed by Alexander Lowen, a student of Wilhelm Reich, back in the 1950s. Many of the postures made use of in Bioenergetics are also found in shamanic traditions with their roots in antiquity.

Bioenergetics make use of postures. Each posture opens up a specific muscle group to allow it to release the stored charge that has been bound into it through trauma or conditioning. 

You can use Bioenergetics in two ways…
  • As a Therapy, to free yourself from Trauma or Conditioning.
  • As a Step-up Tool, to give you high levels of energy, positivity and resilience on a daily basis

You maintain the posture, breathe deeply through the mouth, and keep feeling your body. These three things, done together, progressively release holding patterns and dead zones from the muscles.

Bioenergetics works deep in the muscle system, the physical correlate of our unconscious mind. Whilst you may notice major changes happening soon after you begin practising, you also need to be willing to maintain a practice for a considerable length of time to get the best results.
It’s important to be open to feeling whatever happens whilst you’re doing Bioenergetics, mostly it works on an energetic level to release the charge bound into the muscles through past trauma.
Most people report that Bioenergetics make them feel more open, more energised and more grounded.
